PRODUCTION ACTIVITY
Florida Gators Athletic Season 2011-2012
The University of Florida was the first school in the NCAA to offset all of its Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions from the enntire Athletic Program. Offsets were created locally in the Gainesville community through the distribution of energy efficient light bulbs (CFLs), and from the nearby New River Solid Waste Association Bioreactor where landfill gas was recovered and destroyed preventing the powerful gas from venting to the atmosphere.
